Howard Stern invited Train back into the studio to re-record things that they had archived when Stern was still at KROQ. For whatever reason, the version of “Drops Of Jupiter” that they performed on the Howard Stern show yesterday, a song I have always detested and loathed to the point of extreme danger, suddenly clicked in my head. I mean, of course the part about “checks out Mozart while she does Tae-Bo” still made my stomach turn. But Pat Monaghan’s voice was so overpowering that the song suddenly took shape in my head. I feel ashamed to confess this, but I am now a fan of this version of the Train song “Drops of Jupiter”.
I actually, literally cried. Maybe I was crying tears of boredom, but regardless I had to tell you so you would know that I am falliable and human. God, if you exist, I pray that you never allow this feeling of joy to happen with any song by the band Creed or Scott Stapp and that, if it should occur, someone will kill me out of mercy.
