06.19.07Hip-Hop @ BonnarooSo as EJ and I discovered, writing and posting from Bonnaroo comes with its own unique difficulties. Most of which consist of over-the-top cool events going on all the time to distract you from the internet. Friday’s events wrapped up with shows from Aesop Rock, El-P, and DJ Shadow. Aesop brought Rob Sonic on stage as a backup MC, and the duo worked out pretty well. 06.18.07I Can’t Pay Attention ‘Cuz I’m On That Dust — Dust Bowl Ballads At BonnarooNo, this picture was not taken at dawn as the hazy morning sun cuts through the dew. This is Bonnaroo at sunset engulfed in a sea of dust so thick it boggles the mind. Conditions were unfathomably dry throughout the festival this year. You could see people wearing face masks, bandannas, and covering their mouths with shirts in hopes of separating the dirt from the oxygen. People lost their voices, lungs were coughed up. It will take all of us a few days to get the dirt out of our systems.

06.18.07Bonnaroo Fashion “Do’s” Pt. 1 — Ain’t Nothing Wrong With Guys In SarongsSymbolic reversals of role are visible everywhere at Bonnaroo, but none moreso than in how people dress. These folks have exactly the right idea -- his t-shirt/sarong combination, her tank top & shorts accented by those adorable Asian umbrellas keep you looking cool and feeling cool in the heat.
