Winner of the 2008 Indie Memphis Music Video Showcase Jury Prize, this video is as beautiful and inspiring as the woman who is singing in it — the inimitable soulful strains of Miss Valencia Robinson. This song is deeply inspirational and it’s a very simple, down-to-earth tune. Definitely turn this up and watch in full screen mode.
…and really just about anything at all. Amy Lavere is always a breath of fresh air and she wows everyone who gets to see and hear her. She’ll soon be appearing in a new show from producer/director Craig Brewer entitled 5 Dollar Cover along with a number of very talented Memphis musicians and performers.

No, you ain’t reading a typo, The Band that will soon be the house band on the Jimmy Fallon show, The Band who straight-up dropped ‘the N word’ 39 times in the song “75 Bars (Black’s Reconstruction)” has made a piece being shown on Noggin and Nick,Jr.! Yo Gabba Gabba is about as cool as it gets — fun for the whole family for certain, and hey — this awesome track is 100% clean too. Ladytron’s “Ghosts”, beautifully remixed by Blestenation, stayed atop the RCRD LBL charts for a while. The track remains popular for a reason: it’s great stuff. Ladytron always manages to up the ante with each new release, and this is doubtless my favorite of their remixes this year. The video is pretty keen as well, so enjoy. The new Bloc Party album Intimacy will be released in physical form by Wichita/Atlantic Records on October 27th, just a week after this song, “Talons”, is physically released as the first single. You already know (if you purchased the album’s digital release) that this track is not included in the digital version of the album — but is a value-added bonus for those of us who purchased the digital album. The sound, both on the album and the single, marks a noticeable departure from the Bloc Party sound of recent memory, demonstrating that they are sharing a greater kinship of late with Mute Math than, say, PiL.

So listen, Ye. First off, I would bet you don’t read blogs and, most likely, you don’t read mine. That’s okay with me. I am just another fucking fan out there who lost his cool after being up all night. I was tired and cranky last week. I want to apologize for being a dick. I admit that my comments were pretty harsh on you about what went down at Bonnaroo. I sent my Idolator update on the morning after it happened, four or five hours sleep after the fact, so I was still pretty stung about the delays and all that. Not that it probably matters to you, but I wasn’t trying to get in the “‘Ye Hater” line.
But I didn’t understand what caused all the drama last Sunday morning and, a week later, we still don’t know for sure. You haven’t said anything about it, and I’m surprised.
