Confirmed reports out of Nashville tell us that Dobie Gray, one of American music’s most vibrant and timeless voices, passed away peacefully this morning in his sleep. He was 71. No further details are available right now, but I will update this story as I learn more.
A multi-dimensional performer whose work crossed decades, genres of music and artistic styles, Dobie worked consistently as a performer up until the time of his passing. Dobie will be without a doubt be most remembered for songs ‘The In-Crowd’, ‘Loving Arms’ and his performance of the unforgettable, iconic ode to rock and roll music, ‘Drift Away’.
Rest in Power, Dobie, and thank you for everything you gave to the world of music.
