I’m not going to lie to anyone: this update is being written by someone who has always felt Sade could do no wrong. Being a fan of Sade’s sultry voice and soul-searching music for many, many years, I’ve listened to this single, “Solider of Love” from her forthcoming album of the same title and… I’m not really ready to make comment on this one just yet. It’s definitely a Sade track. That’s the most I can say myself right now. What do you think of it?

She sounds defeated and energized at the same time, has a modern-ish production style to it which seems like a good move, will make a strong live song I think. She should do it on Fallon, the Roots would kill that track.

Why The Roots when Sade is/has her own band?? Track is great – keep playing it, it’ll grow on you….

Yeah that’s a good question. The Roots? No dis to The Roots (who I think would be great when hooked in with Sade), but Sade is a full band and always has been. The PR emails even promote Sade as “the band Sade” not “the singer Sade”, so it’s definitely about their collective and not just about Ms. Adu
