Track Descriptions
Treasure Fingers broke onto the scene in a big way this year with his chopped-up vocoder hit "Cross The Dancefloor." Just when you thought the song couldn’t get any catchier, funk bosses Chromeo come through and drop a guest verse, dope synth solos, and of course - more cowbell!
Nacho Lovers are a pair of young Toronto techno fiends, and their awesome debut single "Acid Life" shows exactly why Fool’s Gold put them on in the first place. This exclusive fuzzed-out remix from Institubes producer Surkin rocks big rooms, basement parties, and blogs alike, while staying true to the spirt of the original.
Bay Area producer/MC Trackademicks has a smash on his hands with the uptempo club rap of "Enjoy What You Do." Boys Noize protege Shadow Dancer turns it into a half-time techno cut that reworks the track into a much darker dancefloor workout. ‘Evy chune!
Kid Sister’s "Pro Nails" was her first hit, boosting her into star MC status and turning Fool’s Gold into THE indie label to watch. Flipping such a recognizable track was no easy feat, but UK producer Rusko proved more than up to the challenge, melding dubstep drumbeats with cheeky, almost G-Funk worthy synth lines for a club sureshot.
"Go On" is another new track from Nacho Lovers. Originally a pulsing electro tune, LA-via-NYC producer Blu Jemz flips the tempo completely and chops "Go On" into a hard, Dilla-inspired hip hop beat. A refreshing change of pace!
Jokers Of The Scene take a huge artistic leap forward with their new single "Baggy Bottom Boys," ditching easy samples for ambitious, multi-part rave breakdowns and ecstatic piano chords. This self-remix is even more ambitious, morphing "Baggy" into a hypnotic, seven-minute-long tech house number.
Kid Cudi’s "Day ‘N’ Nite" was one of the summer’s biggest indie hits, a sing-along that was right at home in your headphones or blaring out of a ten-foot stack of speakers. Jori Hulkkonen’s remix turns Cudi’s anthem into a slow-building and melodic minimal techno workout.
