The passing of Chicago-born jazz/folk guitarist and songwriter Terry Callier on 27 October at the age of 67 left a hole in the soul of those whom his music touched. His powerful influence on the world of music is tangible in the music of Michael Kiwanuka, Beth Orton, and his 2009 collaborators on the album Hidden Conversations, the legendary Massive Attack.
Today, an unreleased track appeared courtesy of that nascent relationship. Simply referred to as ‘The Windmill Hill Sessions’, arranged and mixed by Robert Del Naja and Euan Dickinson, the session contains 15.5 minutes of unreleased outtakes carefully & lovingly shaped by the production values and signatures associated with Massive Attack. Enjoy.
