One thing about Green Day: they are very good at powering through and leaving scars. They’re determined to EGOT, and they’re well on their way to doing so. Can you sing like Billie Joe without using auto-tune? FUCK NO YOU CAN’T, don’t even front that you could — and that’s part of why Green Day has remained a constant in a world of temporaries. They set the bar higher, they’ve worked harder, and in spite of it all they still just don’t give a fuck. Their new song, “Let Yourself Go” doesn’t cover much new ground, but it’s still a solid Green Day song which, all things considered, is a feat of great justice in the modern world of music, kind of like their upcoming album trilogy, ¡Uno!
