This coming Thursday night June 14th, thanks to Minglewood Hall and the folks at AC Entertainment, Toronto recording artist The Weeknd will make a previously unscheduled stop in Memphis & I predict it will be a show to remember. Abel Tesfaye’s been out on the road now for a minute & he’s had an opportunity to work out the kinks of performing his deeply personal, impassioned songs in the live arena. When you consider that the man gave away three full mixtapes of new material to everyone last year for free, the $30 ticket price is a bargain.
And, for those of you who are old enough to drive, you’re in luck: the show isn’t 18 and up for a change. This show will be open to those 16 and up (you’ll still need your ID, of course). In the meantime, The Weeknd recently got up off of this unreleased joint called “Our Love” which shows a very different side. Back in 2009, Abel did some work with a group called The Noise and, as this T-Minus produced track shows, they were headed in a very different direction. Enjoy.
